Digital Grids

So after my hiatus of summer haze I am now back at University. So far I've been doing work on digital grids using indesign. This has been a fun project for me and I've been really invested in it. I'm no illustrator so doing graphic based work makes me happy.

Here's my 9 column grid which I really enjoyed working on. If you'd like to see my other indesign grids check them out at my issuu http://www.issuu.com/jenniferscott35. I've been doing a lot of looking at interesting things over the summer. I've got a lot of them written down I just need to compile some of them into a more in depth blog entry, expect it soon!

Final Presentation for Marketing Paper Toys

My favourite project so far I had so much love and passion being involved with this project. I worked with fellow Illustrator Adam Norfolk and graphic designer Luvena Petty. We built a website and community based on the hipster 18-24 year old market. We worked with paper and digital methods to create a website that would be appealing and keep things free. Everyone likes freebies right? This project gave me a chance that I missed out on in the original project to give my toys more life and personality. We got a grade of 78 for all our hard work. Check out our final presented work:

Stan Wars

These are my paper toys based in obsessive super fans who troll internet forums battling it out to find out who is best. Really I didn't give them enough unique characteristics (apart from Gaga toy) they look too similar to the actual celebrities. Due to time restraints I had to take ideas and a fantastic suggestion by my tutor out. However I intend to bring the toys into better context of battling for each fan's celebrities honor I will be able to portray them with speech bubbles and personalities. I found this project very difficult with my bad hands specially on finicky details which was a shame but I'm quite happy overall with them.

Paper toys

For our latest brief we have been given a task to create a set of paper toys. Just looking into google you'll find a ton of paper toys. It's more popular than I thought and the designs can range from very complex to extremely simple.

Designing toys with nets sounds terrifying but really there is a ton of tutorials online and it's not an awful lot harder than when we had to design the tactile boxes.

This is the strangest thing I've seen in a while!

This is an obscure song from 1998 that Kylie Minogue was featured in. It is a song literally about a typeface! Take time to listen.
